Our mission is matching herders to humans in Southern California.
Helping Herders Rescue is a foster-based 501(c)3 rescue dedicated to helping abandoned herding dogs recover, prepare for a family, and find great homes.
Our Story
It was a mix of fate and a love for herding breeds that brought three gals together with the goal of helping herders, one herding dog at a time.
They started as independent rescuers, working together, and a natural partnership grew from shared values about responsible rescue.
We believe that every dog deserves to be treated with kindness and respect.
We believe that good rescue involves foster homes.
We believe that special needs dogs are extra special, so we look for extra special homes for them.
We believe in the magic created when a great match is made between dogs and people.
With the strength of shared beliefs, the natural partnership formalized as a 501(c)3 in early 2016 in the form of Helping Herders Rescue, including a small, dedicated, and greatly appreciated network of foster homes.
